We Install Beautiful, Functional Chase Covers

While the standard steel chimney included with a prefabricated chimney system is plenty functional, it doesn’t always lend such great curb appeal to a home. That’s largely why most homeowners choose to have a chase built around it. Finished to look like traditional masonry or to match the rest of the home, a chase can take a stark, industrial-looking pipe and make it into an attractive addition to the roofline. The chase’s role, however, is both functional and visual: while it adds aesthetic appeal, it also helps to protect the chimney from the elements.

To provide adequate protection, a cover is installed at the top of the chase, and serves a function similar to the crown of a masonry chimney: it helps guide water away from the flue, keeping moisture out of your system. Unfortunately, these metal chase covers can and do corrode and rust, and when that happens, your chimney system and home are vulnerable to waterlogged ceilings and walls, mold issues, rust, and corrosion.

Here at Weststar Chimney Sweeps, we know how important it is to protect your prefabricated chimney from rain and critters that see it as a warm and safe place to wander into. That’s why we offer chase cover installation for prefabricated chimneys of all sizes and shapes. We install chase covers that are custom-made to properly fit your chimney, covering the entire top of the chase to better protect the interior and exterior of the chimney.

With Weststar Chimney Sweeps, Chase Cover Installation Is A Custom Job

Our quality chase covers are custom-made for your chimney, which is important, because in order to provide the protection your system needs, a chase cover has to fit over your chimney top as snugly as a lid on Tupperware. When it comes to chase cover fittings, precision is an absolute must.

When you have us install a new chase cover, one of our CSIA-certified chimney technicians will come measure your chimney top (the sides of a chimney top aren’t always the same), and use those measurements to fabricate the perfect cover. Once the cover is designed and created, a technician will provide professional installation, leaving you with a beautiful, custom-fitted chase cover that will offer years of protection and peace of mind.

GENERAL PRICING

Chase cover replacements start at around $550.00 for galvanized, and $800.00 for stainless steel. Actual pricing depends on size, material requested, height, and accessibility of chimney. Every so often we are asked to make a copper chase and this price verifies.

Prices for copper are highest, with stainless next, – a good buy, and galvanized is the lowest cost with the lower-quality metal.
Stainless steel and copper chase covers have a lifetime warranty against rust, corrosion and defects. Galvanized has a one-year warranty against rust and defects only.
All tops come with a one-year workmanship warranty on the installation of product.

For a masonry chimney, a cracked crown can lead to all kinds of damage if not repaired quickly. The good news is that an application of Crown Coat may be all that’s needed to take care of the problem.
